The Dedication of the new Farmington Public Safety Building took place on Sunday, June 4th, 2017 at 2:00 PM. The events started at 1:30 PM with a brief ceremony at the old Police Station. Following brief remarks by the chief, the police drove their vehicles, sirens and lights going full force, over to the old Fire Station. At the old Fire Station, the fireman had a brief ceremony, taking down the flags and folding them. The firemen then got into their vehicles and followed the police vehicles in a parade down Route 153, where they were joined by the Boy Scouts near the new Public Safety Building. The parade continued to the new building, where ceremonies of flag raising and building dedication were followed by some food and building tours.,
The Puddledock Press was there and took over 130 photos of the ceremonies and parade. You can view the 2017 June 4 - Farmington Public Safety Building Dedication Puddledock Photo Album on the Puddledock's Flickr photostream. Thanks to Pam Lord for sending along a few more photos to add to the collection.
